- Wear non-slip shoes or boots.
- Consider a safety harness if working at heights.
Equipment
- A Soft-bristle brush
- Bucket of water
- Mild cleaning solution
- Hose with a spray nozzle
- Soft microfibre cloth
Firstly inspect your rooflights for any damage, cracks, or loose seals.
Start by gently brushing away any loose debris, dirt, or dust from the exterior surface of the rooflights.
Next, prepare a bucket of water mixed with a mild cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals, as they can damage the glass or seals. Gently apply the solution to the exterior surface of the rooflights using a soft cloth or sponge, working in a circular motion. Be sure to cover the entire surface, including the edges and corners.
Then rinse the rooflights thoroughly using a hose with a spray nozzle. Ensure all soap residue is removed to avoid streaks or spots. Finally, use a soft microfibre cloth to dry the glass, wiping in a top-to-bottom motion to prevent streaking.
